I am so excited for a new year at Middleton! This is my second year and I have lots of new fun ideas!
Again this year we will be exploring all areas of music. We will sing, play instruments, move, and explore with hands on activities. We will explore each of the elements of music. Melody, Rhythm, Tempo, Timbre, Harmony, Dynamics, and Meter.
We will focus a great deal on being able to read music this year. This will tie in nicely with the school theme, "readers are leaders".
We will continue learning about composers and instruments this year. I took a trip to Hawaii this summer and brought back several new instruments. We will do a whole unit on Hawaiian music.
I look forward to experiencing music with each of you this year!
